MOBILITY EXERCISES
Here are some of my favourite mobility exercises. They should take an average of five minutes. Taking that amount of time to work through these daily will allow you a dedicated moment to check in with your body. While youâre doing this, be sure to include some diaphragmatic breathing (see page 55) â see, itâs all coming together nicely, isnât it?
I recommend you read these through twice before starting. Your set up is your starting position; how you set yourself up before you begin is important as we want to start every movement from a good position and with intention.
EXERCISE 1: Adductor rockback with rotation
SET UP: Starting on all fours, take your right leg out to the side, keeping your right foot in line with your left knee.
Slowly push your hips back towards your heel â you will feel a stretch through your right inner thigh and left groin. Rock back and forth slowly.
After three repetitions, place your right hand by your right ear, then reach your right elbow towards your left elbow, then away from your left elbow towards the ceiling, so that you are rotating through your spine.
